In the Beginning - God!
Yes, there was a beginning. There have been people here and there, from time to time throughout history, who believed there was no beginning. But in our day science has confirmed it! There was a beginning. They call it "the Big Bang Theory." Of course science doesn't attribute the Big Bang to God. The scientific method, as currently understood by most scientists, seeks only naturalistic explanations. To say there is a spiritual being, God, who in some way caused the big bang would be to go beyond the scientific enterprise. Alright, so be it! Scientists are simply confining their area of study to nature. However, some spokesmen for science today, the so-called "new atheists," go farther. They say that only nature exists. There is nothing beyond "nature" or, to use the term of atheist Carl Sagan, "the cosmos." But notice such a conclusion does not follow from the fact that science chooses to study nature. And the fact that science has been very successful in finding naturalistic explanations of natural events says nothing about whether or not there is anything beyond nature. Science has not buried God! The new atheists are simply declaring they have great faith that science will eventually find naturalistic explanations for everything - not in our lifetime of course but eventually, because only nature exists But isn't this just blind faith? I've come to the conclusion that it takes more blind faith to believe there is no God than to believe there is a God! In fact, king David of Israel said, "The fool says in his heart, "there is no God." Ps 14:1.

I wonder what their next theory will be concerning the beginning of things. You say that the new atheists theorize that there is only nature. That sounds like a cop-out. Since science is stuck and always will be without God in the equation, they will only get frustrated with their own limitations. And finally they will say "that's all there is, is nature."
And of course the "new" atheists like Richard Dawkins are already saying that.
